perplexing pixel perceptions....?!...

I've just ranted on about the sizes of images and pixels and now I find myself a bit perplexed by the fact that windows preview (and the software that I used to edit the original photos together on) seem to be showing a different rate of 'dots per inch' resolution then my browser....am I missing something here?

this is a screen capture of my browser at about 500 % zoom (approx.) on the left and windows previewer zoomed in to match the size of the browsers size (as a point of fixed reference for the resolution) as an insert image on the right...I'm not surprised that windows is in some way inferior, I just don't understand why!

any tech-heads out there know the answer? (open the image by right clicking on it so it opens in a new window and the disparity will be even more obvious!)

Ahmet just sent me the missing photos

Ahmet just sent me the missing photos from last sesh. I've put them together as I would normally do, but have just discovered that these are low resolution images (72 dpi approx.). I'm going to post them now anyway but hopefully the full sized images won't be far behind :)

I've posted them as big as I think they can be displayed...as you can see from these images there are sessions missing (based on what I have shown you in my previous post) for the top of the hand, the inside of the elbow and the  wolf headdress (and above).

The next session will include designing the rest of the back of the upper arm, the shoulder area, and filling in the inner elbow and inner upper arm...obviously...anyway, I guess that all qualifies as an update so...cheers, later all :)

...A New Hope....episode Ahmet.

OK, I've got a new tattoo website, just launched a few weeks ago...

tatt2mike.info

...But I will be posting new pictures of my latest work here, not there, as it is easier to manage an orderly posting template with bloger.com, more so than with my own website builder (I'm not big on these complicated newfangled devices!)

It'll be mostly ongoing work, snapshots for anyone who wants to follow the progress of various pieces. And sleeves, most likely - with some odds and ends thrown in.

No new back jobs for this year, though...so far...hint, hint :)

I'll start it of with some shots of Ahmets arm...he's been quite the trooper, getting tattooed once a week for the last...almost 2 months?!...how time flies!

I'm calling this 'Ahmet's sleeve 2.0" as we spent most of last year (?) redoing his right arm (that means taking old shit and making it look like new shit...but better shit as Ahmet was OK with me changing what was there, actually he insisted that we 'go darker' with the images...yeah, as if I'd ever say 'no' to making something 'darker'?!...muahahahahaaaa!!!)

Click on the images to enlarge them.

Starting from left to right, each image represents a new session. So we 'leapfrogged' from one area to the other as different parts healed. Lots of fun for me to do. I like big, detailed pieces. These are my own designs but Ahmet did show me references of other peoples tattoos to follow in terms of the basic visual themes (not specific details).

...and here is the underside/outside of the forearm. I'm sure both Ahmet and I agree that this is the coolest piece so far on the arm....'nuff said.

there are more photos, but during the last session my camera-phone was low on batteries and I took the shots using Ahmets phone, so we'll just have to wait a bit for those.
cheers!
